How WWE Should Book Evolution 2018

Image result for evolution 2018

Hey everyone! Ever since Night Of Champions 2015, through multiple accounts, every month before major WWE pay-per-views, I’ve come on here and booked the cards to make them as exciting, intriguing, and best possible scenarios for the future. I do both NXT and main-roster pay-per-views, as well as the occasional big RAW or Smackdown weekly show. Without further ado, here is how WWE Should Book EVOLUTION 2018!

RED-CARPET PRE-SHOW:

·       Well, this is different. WWE announced that there would be a red carpet show prior to Evolution, like at the Hall Of Fame ceremonies every year, where for an hour before Evolution begins women would be interviewed and appear. To my knowledge, there’s no Kickoff panel, no Social Media Lounge, no nothing, but the one thing I will say about this is that to end off the ceremony, Bayley and Sasha Banks are interviewed by Charly Caruso. They do all their hype stuff, vow to defeat the Riott Squad, and talk about how historic this night truly is. As Sasha is answering another question, Shayna Baszler walks up on stage, yanks the mic from Charly’s hand, and rants on about how she wasn’t approached once for an interview in the past hour. Things get tense between Shayna, Sasha and Bayley and Ronda Rousey walks up and gets between them, and plants her feet right next to Shayna. The red carpet goes off the air as half of each respective Four Horsewomen teams stare each other down.

MAIN-SHOW:

·         Well, here we are. The women have worked their asses off for the last 3 decades and beyond to get to this point. While I as well as many others feel the true origins of the Women’s Revolution have been greatly misrepresented by the matches booked on this card, it’s absolutely passable. There’s enough good on this show to get excited about. Without further ado, let’s celebrate the Evolution of WOMEN (and also Michael Cole is there!).

·

1ST MATCH: Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm (2018 Mae Young Classic Tournament Final match)

·         What better match to kick off? You end a classic tournament to begin the first ever Women’s PPV. Io is out first followed by Storm, and the match goes 17 minutes. This could easily be MOTN. There’s tons of matches that could hold that name. Even though she’s easily one of if not the best Women’s wrestler on this whole planet we all live in. If rumors are to be believed, Io was supposed to lose anyways, she wasn’t even supposed to make it into the finals, as she was penciled in to be defeated in the Semifinals by Tegan Nox before her injury. For that reason and the fact that a japanese woman won the Royal Rumble in Asuka, a japanese woman won last year’s MYC in Kairi Sane, and it’s time for a change. Toni Storm has been a far bigger MVP of the tournament over Io, and right under Meiko Satomura as THE MVP, so there’s no reason not to give it to her. The match ends when Toni is down and Shirai goes up top for the Diving Moonsault, but Toni rolls out of the way and Io lands on her feet. Io spins around and Toni hoists her up for the Storm Zero for the pin.

WINNER by PINFALL and 2018 Mae Young Classic Winner: Toni Storm

·         We get an ad for Kay Jewlers.

·

2ND MATCH: Alundra Blayze vs. Asuka vs. Billie Kay vs. Carmella vs. Dana Brooke vs. Ember Moon vs. Ivory vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Lana vs. Mandy Rose vs. Maria Kanellis vs. Michelle McCool vs. Molly Holly vs. Nia Jax vs. Peyton Royce vs. Sonya Deville vs. Tamina vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Zelina Vega vs. TBA (Battle Royal for a future Women’s Championship match)

·         This is a match that is happening I guess or whatever. Most of the less important women come out together to the PPV theme song, but those who get their own entrances include Asuka, Carmella, Ember Moon, Nia Jax, and the legends. The match goes 12 minutes. In the end, the final 4 women are Asuka, Ember Moon, Nia Jax and Michelle McCool. Nia tosses out McCool after a big Atomic Legdrop, and the final 3 are Ember, Jax and Asuka. Ember and Asuka both team up and go wild on Nia. Eclipses, kicks, forearms, and headshots to the girl that is not like most, and ultimately Nia is sent spiraling over the top after a simultaneous Eclipse and Running Dropkick from Asuka. Our final two survivors are now in the ring. RAW vs. Smackdown, two women who are very familiar with each other from their time in NXT. Asuka and Ember Moon have an absolutely insane sprint for 2 minutes, hitting their finishers and pulling moves out of their arsenal we don’t usually ever see. In the end, Asuka would try to lock the Asuka Lock on Moon, but Moon would slip out and hit a big Tornado DDT. Asuka eats an Eclipse and Moon clotheslines the Empress over the top for the big win. As much as Asuka could use this win, she’s already won a big battle royal this year and is already established, even if her momentum has been dead as of late. Moon has needed an EMBER ever since coming to the main roster, and Ember vs. Ronda could be a fun feud for a few months and easily could be Ronda’s best match so far. Why not give it a try?

WINNER by last eliminating Asuka: Ember Moon

·         We get an ad for Tapout.

3RD MATCH: Kairi Sane (c) vs. Shayna Baszler (Singles match for the NXT Women’s Championship)

·         Kairi is out first followed by Shayna. The match goes 15 minutes and we get formal ring introductions. These two created absolute magic in Brooklyn and showed how much both women had learned since they first met in the finals of the first MYC. These two have come such a long way, especially Shayna who used to be green as grass. This could make a legitimate case for ending up MOTN, and I’m excited as hell. The two go wild on each other, near falls, Insane Elbows and Shayna’s submission, however you spell it. In the big spot of the match and the ending sequence, Kairi dismantles the announce table and grounds Shayna with a big Roundhouse Kick. Baszler is laid out across the table and Kairi rolls into the ring and goes up top. The crowd is now standing on their feet and KAIRI SANE DELIVERS HER GREATEST AND MOST INSANE INSANE ELBOW OF ALL TIME, SAILING THROUGH THE AIR, STABBING HER ELBOW INTO THE HEART OF SHAYNA BASZLER THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE DESK. The crowd is surely engaged in a Holy Shit chant as Kairi just stumbles up at the count of 8, heaves Shayna’s limp body back in the ring, hooks the legs, AND JUST AS KAIRI SANE IS ABOUT TO EMBARRASS SHAYNA FOR A SECOND TIME, OUT OF NOWHERE COME MARINA SHAFIR AND JESSAMYN DUKE, SHAYN’S MMA 4HW BUDDIES. The ref calls for the bell and Shafir and Duke beat the shit out of Kairi. Shayna eventually stands back to her feet and squeezes the life out of Sane with the clutch. The 4 Horsewomen of MMA are now all officially debuted on WWE TV, and the build has begun to the big 4HW vs. 4HW match down the line.

·

WINNER by Disqualification and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Kairi Sane

·         We get an ad for WWE2K19.

4TH MATCH: Bayley, Natalya and Sasha Banks vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan) (6-Woman Tag Team match)

·         The Squad that Riots is out first followed by The Huggers of Boss Pawz. The match goes 12 minutes. There’s not really much to say about this match, but it’s a damn shame that Bayley and Sasha have been relegated to a 6-woman tag with one week of build on the first ever all-women’s PPV. The babyfaces get the win after Natalya locks Liv in the Sharpshooter, Ruby runs in to try and break it up but gets caught with a Backstabber into the Bank Statement by Sasha, and Sarah Logan tries to save her buddies from tapping out but gets caught with a big Bayley To Belly for the win. I’d like to think that after this show, Bayley and Sasha will finally begin to get their REAL feud started, but we’ve been saying that since 2015, so I hope for nothing with them anymore.

WINNERS by PINFALL: Bayley, Natalya and Sasha Banks

·         As the three women celebrate in the ring, Stephanie McMahon’s music hits and she wheels a podium down to ringside with a tarp covering something on top of it. Stephanie applauds the 6 women for a great match and says that it’s time for women to evolve even further, that whole spiel. She announces that with the influx of incredible women’s talent joining the WWE from all around the world, she’s come to the decision that it’s time to introduce WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLES. I’m not sure how they will be planning to do this, maybe it will be dual-brand, we’ll see. But this has been rumored for the longest time and is definitely ready to be introduced.

·         We get ad for Kay Jewlers.

5TH MATCH: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (Last Woman Standing match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)

·         Becky is out first followed by Charlotte. The match goes 25 minutes, the longest of the night, and we get formal ring introductions during which Charlotte is attacked during her introduction by the champ. This is gonna be a bloodbath. This has been a fantastic feud and Becky has been one of the best characters in wrestling of 2018. The two use every weapon in the book on each other. The finish comes in the form of a brilliant idea by none other than Bubba Ray Dudley. Surely Ric Flair will be in attendance in the crowd, in the front row. Becky exposes the padding outside of the ring and hits a nasty Exploder Suplex on Charlotte. Ric is in the crowd screaming at Becky to stop, and Becky grabs Ric and throws him over the barricade to the floor. Becky locks Ric in the Disarmer as the referee counts to ten. She gets in Charlotte’s face and threatens to break her father’s arm if she doesn’t stay down. Charlotte gets to one knee and Becky locks it on a little tighter. Charlotte is crying now and the ref gets to 10 as Becky stands up at the very last second. As Becky’s name is announced in victory, BECKY BREAKS FLAIR’S ARM ANYWAYS AND SPRINTS OFF INTO THE CROWD AS CHARLOTTE TENDS TO RIC. Flair is screaming in pain, rolling around as Becky retreats into the WWE Universe. Stone Cold Becky Lynch will do what she wants when she wants.

WINNER and STILL SmackDown Women’s Champion: Stone Cold Becky Austin

·         We get an ad from the commentators thanking the artist of the official theme of the PPV.

6TH MATCH: Alicia Fox and Mickie James (w/ Alexa Bliss) vs. Lita and Trish Stratus (Tag Team match)

·         Poor Alexa Bliss, man. She missed out on the Women’s Royal Rumble AND this PPV. Team Bliss is out first followed by the M A S T E R S of the Attitude Era, even though they were actually featured in success in the Ruthless Aggression era. Yes, that’s their official team name. The match goes 8 minutes and it’s mostly just comprised of shennanigans on the outside from Alexa trying to distract the legends and lots of finishers. Whether it was Alexa or Fox teaming with Mickie, it was always apparent that there was no way Trish and Lita were losing. The faces when after Lita hits a Moonsault on Foxy, followed by a Stratusfaction for the pin.

WINNERS by PINFALL: Lita and Trish Stratus

·         We get an ad for Survivor Series next month.

7TH MATCH: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nikki Bella (w/ Brie Bella) (Singles match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship)

·         Oh boy, here we go. This will be the greatest mess of all time. Nikki is out first followed by Ronda, and the match goes 16 minutes. Nikki Bella absolutely should not be the one to beat Ronda Rousey. That much I know. However, that doesn't mean that WWE shouldn't feel compelled to absolutely troll the shit out of the fans in every way possible setting up near-fall after near-fall that make it look like Nikki is about to win. You can have Ronda's feet under the ropes and have the ref not see at first, you can have Nikki use the ropes for leverage, you can have her hit like 30 Rack Attacks in a row and have Ronda just kick out, it's gonna be amazing to watch. In the end though, the nonsense is cut through and Ronda locks in the Armbar and taps out Nikki. At the end of the match, Shayna Bazler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir come down the ramp and all raise each others hands in the ring to end the show. We cut backstage, and Sasha, Bayley and Charlotte all watch the TV, look at each other and nod. The war is just brewing.

Without further ado, here is how WWE Should Book SmackDown 1000.

SMACKDOWN EPISODE 1000 (October 16th, 2018)

·         We get the Then, Now Forever intro signature and then a big highlight video package similar to the one that began RAW 1000 showcasing all the best Smackdown moments and matches since 1999. We get to the arena, HOPEFULLY THE FIST IS THERE, we get minor blue pyro/smoke and the crowd is on their feet.

·         The show begins as Paige’s music hits. She comes out and talks briefly about her time as General Manager so far, and some of her favorite SmackDown memories. She says she’s got a huge guest joining her for the night and OUT COMES THE RETURNING SHANE MCMAHON. Shane says it’s good to be back and that tonight won’t disappoint. Shane announces that the first event of the night is SET FOR ONE FALL, and it’s a dream match, a first time ever, Shane points to the tron and Rey Mysterio’s music hits to a huge pop. Shane and Paige exit the ring as Rey comes down and they embrace. We go to commercial as Rey pumps up the crowd.

1ST MATCH: Rey Mysterio vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE World Cup Qualifying Match)

·         We come back from commercial as Rey’s music is still playing. The lights go out, and out comes Nakamura. The bell rings and the two just stand across from each other in the ring for a minute, soaking it all in, as the crowd is likely going mad before they even lock up. The match goes 11 minutes. Some spots in the match:

·         Rey dropkicks Nakamura and drapes him over the rope, tries for the 619 but Nakamura moves and nails a brutal Kinshasa to Rey as he gets caught up in the ropes, knocking him to the outside.

·         Rey springs off the top rope for a West Coast Pop but Nakamura grasps Rey’s arm mid-air and they both crash to the ground as Nakamura has an armbar cinched in.

The match ends when Nakamura goes for his Inverted Exploder Suplex but Rey flips over and lands on his feet. Mysterio goes wild on kicks to the legs and ankles of Nakamura, trying to get him off his feet. Nakamura tries for a landslide but Rey hits a Hurricanrana, sending Nakamura into the ropes. 619 and Mysterio advances to the World Cup.

WINNER by PINFALL: Rey Mysterio

·         We see The Bar walking through backstage, as Tom Phillips alerts us that they’re here to issue an Open Challenge tonight. We go to commericial.

2ND MATCH: The Bar’s (Cesaro and Sheamus) Open Challenge

·         Out come Sheamus and Cesaro and they look ready for business. They cut a promo declaring that they are the best tag team in the World, the know each other inside and out, they are on the same page no matter what. The Bar dare anyone in the back to try to dispute their claim to being the greatest tag team in Smackdown history, and OUT COME THE APA. The match goes just 3 minutes, no legends match should go longer tonight.. Enough time for JBL to hit a Clothesline From Hell, maybe a big boot, and Ron can get a spinebuster in or two. In the end, JBL eats a massive Brogue Kick from Sheamus. You can’t tell me you don’t want to see this match; a few weeks ago when WWE posted a graphic of Smackdown dream matches and this was in there, and it was the BRAWL you never knew you wanted. Just a chance for some legends to hit a few moves in a short match, no way of them being hurt. The Bar look insanely strong and begin a wave of momentum following this.

WINNERS by PINFALL: The Bar

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: Smackdown Legends Parade/Comedy

·         We go backstage to see Shane McMahon watching the match on a television from an abnormal angle as all wrestlers do, and he’s stroking his chin and nodding, implying he was impressed by their performance. All of a sudden, we see a shoulder on Shane’s shoulder and he turns around to see none other than KURT ANGLE. He gets a huge pop and Angle says he’s just here for one night, and he couldn’t miss the 1000th episode of the show where he made his name famous. Shane and Kurt have a brief moment of recollection and laughs and then KING BOOKER appears behind them. Booker and Kurt have a bit of fun back and forth banter as Booker says that while Angle was one of the best Smackdown has ever had, he’s not a 5 TIME 5 TIME (5X) World champion. Angle and Booker begin to argue but all of a sudden TORRIE WILSON APPEARS and steps in between all three men to break it up. Angle and Booker pretend like nothing happened and adjust their coats and say hello to Torrie. Torrie acts all sensual toward the three and then out of nowhere, Dean Ambrose, because he was a vital part of Smackdown’s newest golden era in 2016, walks in eating a hot-dog, and asks where the ketchup and mustard are. Just because.

·         The segment ends as all 4 look in bewilderment as Ambrose walks away, and we go to commercial.

IICONICS PROMO SEGMENT:

·         We come back from commercial and the IIconics music hit. They make their grand entrance and being their usual annoying selves, and are sure to brag that they beat Asuka and Naomi at Super Show-Down. They cut a similar promo to the Bar, saying that no pair of women in Smackdown’s history were as Iconic as them, and OUT COME LAY-COOL. This is the confrontation in women’s wrestling that many fans have wanted since their main-roster debut, and what better night to have it come to fruition? The match goes 5 minutes, and IIconics continue their winning streak after Billie hits a Big Boot on Layla.

WINNERS by PINFALL: The IIconics

·         We get a graphic for Rusev vs. Aiden English, a Charlotte/Becky contract signing, and The Cutting Edge later in the show, then we go to commercial.

4TH MATCH: Aiden English vs. Rusev (w/ Lana)

·         English is out first followed by Rusev and Lana. This is a simple squash match and just a way to continue the feud and feature it on the show. It goes a quick minute and conists mostly of English running away from Rusev and attempting cowardly offense, ultimately getting caught in the Accolade and tapping out right away. The two would have another longer match down the line to end the feud for good, but the two deserve to have a spot on this show, even for this short amount of time. This show is gonna be like a Wrestlemania where WWE is gonna wanna pack as many past and present superstars on the card as possible.

WINNER by SUBMISSION: Rusev

SEGMENT: BECKY LYNCH VS. CHARLOTTE FLAIR EVOLUTION LAST WOMAN STANDING MATCH CONTRACT SIGNING W/ PAIGE

·         We come back from commercial and Paige is already in the ring with the contract as her music plays. Paige introduces Charlotte first followed by Becky. It’s your usual heated contract signing and the two are about to come to blows but Paige gets in between them. Charlotte shoves Paige out of the way and brawls with Becky. Paige calls out security and both women beat up all the security. Paige tries to get Charlotte off again and Charlotte pushes her down. Paige acts dead now and Charlotte locks in a Figure Four around the ringpost on Becky as she screams. Officials and the usual backstage geeks run out to try and get Charlotte to stop. **Not really much more to say here except I hope you’re realizing by this point that you’ve just read through a Double Turn. It’s absolutely nessecary. Becky can still keep the no-nonsense attitude, and attack Charlotte whilst not attacking the fans, but Becky needs to be CLEARLY established as the BABYFACEbecause she is getting CHEERED and Charlotte needs to be CLEARLY established as the HEEL because she is getting BOOED. The match is official for Evolution, you have that extra layer of Paige now being biased toward Charlotte, making harsh instructions toward her, and it’s all stirred together in one big compelling storyline soup. There’s ya segment.

·         We get an ad for Evolution and the commentators review the match card so far.

SEGMENT WITH CURRENT SMACKDOWN SUPERSTARS COMING OUT INTERRUPTING EACH OTHER, VICKIE GUERRERO AND TEDDY LONG APPEARANCE; TEDDY MAKES A TAG TEAM MATCH

·         AJ Styles comes out to a big pop. He cuts a promo essentially saying how his tenure on Smackdown has been one of the best parts of his entire career, and he’s been honored to entertain the masses from city to city as their champion. AJ is interrupted by Daniel Bryan, who’s interrupted by The Miz, whos’ interrupted by Samoa Joe, who’s interrupted by Jeff Hardy, who’s interrupted by Randy Orton, who’s interrupted by Shelton Benjamin, who’s interrupted by Almas and Vega, who’s FINALLY interrupted by New Day. They all fill up the ring and generally group up in their respective babyface or heel group. They all begin to argue with each other off-mic and out of nowhere glass shatters throughout the arena as we hear EXXXXXXXXXCUUUUUUUUUUSSSSEEEEE MEEEEE. THE ARENA COMES UNGLUED with boos. Vickie commands everyone on the ring to get on the same page or else she’ll tell Shane McMahon and Paige to get security. YOU KNOW IT’S THE MACMILITANT, COMIN TO GET IT ON. Teddy makes a 10-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH between the guys in the ring, probably his largest tag match EVER made, and we get to the main-event match of the night.

5TH MATCH: Andrade “Cien” Almas (w/ Zelina Vega), The Miz, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe and Shelton Benjamin vs. AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Jeff Hardy and The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) (w/ Kofi Kingston) (10-Man Tag Team match)

·         Joe and AJ Styles start the match off for their respective teams, for a mini reignition of their feud. The match goes 20 minutes. Everyone is tagged in and gets offense in on everyone. Bodies flying everywhere, announce tables destroyed, barricades broken, an absolute sprint all the way through with everyone kept fresh. A match only fit to have the main event slot of the 1000th episode of SmackDown. The match ends when Styles and Miz are legal; Bryan and AJ are teaming up momentarily to beat down Miz and AJ locks Miz’s arms behind his back and calls for Bryan to Yes Kick his head off. Miz manages to duck and BRYAN LEAVES AN IMPRINT IN AJ’S SKULL AS HE ACCIDENTALLY KICKS HIS PARTNER, AND FUTURE OPPONENT FOR THE WWE TITLE. Miz knocks Bryan out of the ring and Miz hits a Skull Crushing Finale on Styles for the win. THE MIZ HAS PINNED THE WWE CHAMPION, so a future Miz/Styles title match is beginning to be teased, miscommunication between Bryan and Styles happen to add a sense of tension to their feud, and the heels are victorious at Smackdown 1000 for a change.

WINNERS by PINFALL: Andrade “Cien” Almas, The Miz, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe and Shelton Benjamin

·         We go backstage to see Teddy Long walking down the hall, shaking hands of various faces. All of a sudden, we hear a deep voice yell “YO ERNIE!’. The camera pans over and it’s R-Truth with Carmella. Comedy ensues as Truth mistakes Teddy for the late Ernie Ladd. Teddy of course has to explain that he’s Teddy Long, former Smackdown general manager, and just for Truth calling him Ernie Ladd, he’s gonna be putting Truth ONE ON ONE WIT DA UNDERTAKA. Teddy walks off as Truth begs for forgiveness and Carmella consoles him.

FINAL SEGMENT: The Cutting Edge with Surprise Guest

·         Edge is out and the whole Cutting Edge setup already decorates the ring. Edge does all his usual antics and catchphrases and Edge brings out his special guest in JOHN CENA. Cena’s out looking like JBL once again and the two recall their history and crack some jokes. Edge asks what’s next for Cena and all of a sudden WE HEAR THE GONG. Undertaker makes his way out to the ring and the three men exchange glances. Taker reminds both men that he’s put them down in the past and wouldn’t mind doing it again if need be. KURT ANGLE’S MUSIC HITS and he makes his way out. It’s a parade of Smackdown legends in one ring as Mysterio comes out next, followed by Evolution, and if they can get him, THE ROCK. It’s an incredible moment, as all the titans of Smackdown’s history are sharing one ring. They all appear to embrace but THEN A WILD BRAWL BREAKS OUT WITH EVERYONE (minus of course Edge, who exits the ring right away). Ric Flair even takes an Angle Slam from Kurt, since there’s no way he’s not gonna wanna take a bump.

·         In the end, Evolution end up standing tall. Ric has managed to recover from the Angle Slam by this point, and wobbles to his feet. Evolution’s music hit. HHH raises his hand in pride, and Orton and Flair do the same. Batista hesitates as all three look at him. HHH commands Batista to stop dishonoring the group, and Batista turns his back and walks away from his family. HHH is livid and Smackdown 1000 goes off the air with dissension in Evolution, planting the seeds for the probable HHH/Batista one last match down the line.
