How WWE Should Book Fastlane 2018 (SDLive)

 Image result for fastlane 2018

Hey everyone! I love to write & I love wrestling so ever since Night Of Champions 2015, through multiple accounts, I have been fantasy booking WWE PPV's in detail, and have been a wrestling fan since 2005. Without further ado, here is How WWE Should Book Fastlane 2018. The road to Wrestlemania continues. The final stop is here.

PRE-SHOW:

We get our usual panel with Renee Young, David Otunga, everyone's favorite person on earth Sam Roberts and Jerry Lawler. They hype up the matches and give their predictions throughout the hour, and we're also shown video hype packages. A Social Media Lounge segment with US Champion Bobby Roode is announced earlier in the day. Use #AskBobbyRoode. About halfway through, we get to our kickoff match.

KICKOFF MATCH: Mojo Rawley vs. Tye Dillinger (Singles Match)

No official kickoff match has been made official yet, so I just made this up, pitting two guys left off the card, and this could be a decent match. Mojo is out first followed by Dillinger. The match goes 10 minutes. Mojo has been unbelievably impressive ever since he turned on Ryder, cutting some of the best phone promos you’ll see. Mojo has recently taken on a new motive of he’ll have to “make a mistake” to get back on the card, and so in this match I’d have him beat Dillinger down so bad that the match gets stopped. This guy is going places, and don’t worry about Dillinger, I’d have him go to RAW after Mania, where I feel he’d fit in more.

WINNER: Mojo Rawley by Referee Stoppage

We get the SML with Roode, and the panel gives their final predictions for the main-event as we get to the main show.

MAIN SHOW:

The final PPV before Wrestlemania. Let's hope we don't randomly get Cesaro vs. Jinder Mahal and Big Show vs. Rusev in 10+ minute singles unannounced matches this year. Let's get into it.

1ST MATCH: Bobby Roode (c) vs. Randy Orton (Singles Match for the WWE United States Championship)

Roode is out first followed by Orton. I cannot wait to see this match. Two super old-school styles. The match goes 13 minutes. The match ends after both men are exchanging strikes, and Orton goes for an RKO but Roode shoves Orton away and the ref gets knocked over. All of a sudden Jinder Mahal runs out and attempts a Khallas on Roode, but Roode now shoves Mahal away and he eats an RKO and rolls out of the ring. Amidst the distraction, Roode hits a Glorious DDT to retain. I have no clue where WWE is actually going with this triangle feud, and I sure hope it's not a match at Wrestlemania. Just because there's an IC Title triple threat doesn't mean there needs to be a US Title one. This is a way to involve Jinder further in these two's business, but also have Roode retain while not pinning Orton completely clean.

WINNER and STILL WWE United States Champion by Pinfall: Bobby Roode

We get an ad for Tapout.

2ND MATCH: Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ruby Riott (with Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan) (Singles Match for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship)

Ruby Riott with her squad is out first followed by Charlotte. The match goes 11 minutes. Liv & Logan end up getting sent to the back by the referee halfway through after shenanigans. The story being told in the match is that Ruby is nothing without the entire Riott Squad, and thus Charlotte hits a Spear to retain the title. Charlotte celebrates afterward and poses on the top rope. Dasha Fuentes comes into the ring post-match and interviews Charlotte in the ring, asking her if she has any Wrestlemania plans in mind. BEFORE CHARLOTTE CAN SPEAK, ASUKA'S MUSIC HITS AND SHE WALTZES DOWN AND STARES DOWN CHARLOTTE AND GETS IN HER FACE. Asuka laughs and points at the title around Charlotte's waist and then at the Wrestlemania sign. Charlotte holds up the championship as Asuka points. Asuka has chosen her Wrestlemania opponent. By the way, I'll have my Wrestlemania 34 full Smackdown card at the end of this post.

WINNER and STILL WWE Smackdown Women's Champion by Pinfall: Charlotte Flair

We get an ad for WWE Shop and then we get a backstage interview with AJ Styles and Charly Caruso. Styles gets asked how he would feel not getting the dream match against Nakamura at Wrestlemania. Styles says he has his eye on Nakamura tonight, and that fortunately, his match against Rusev is up next.

3RD MATCH: Rusev (with Aiden English) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (Singles Match)

Nakamura is out first followed by Aiden English. English attempts to clear his throat as the crowd goes crazy chanting Rusev Day and tries to sing IT’S RUSEV DAY but can’t. His vocal cords are too damaged. English panics and tells Shinsuke he’s damaged a national treasure. Nakamura sings IT’S NAKAMURA DAAAAY, and out of nowhere Rusev blindsides Nakamura from behind and starts stomping him down. The bell rings and the match begins. The match goes 15 minutes. These two can do some real magic with that time. Rusev is relatively dominant throughout and looks like a star, but it ends when Nakamura hits two consecutive Kinshasa’s.

WINNER by Pinfall: Shinsuke Nakamura

We get a hype video for Wrestlemania being 28 days away.

4TH MATCH: Becky Lynch and Naomi vs. Carmella and Natalya (Tag Team Match)

Naomi and Becky are out first followed by Natalya and Carmella. The match goes 8 minutes. Mainly just a filler match, not really a story, doesn’t need much time. Becky and Naomi get the win after Natalya taps to a Disarm-her.

WINNERS by Submission: Becky Lynch and Naomi

We transition to our next match as the commentators thank SUR for “Lean Back”, the official theme song of the PPV.

5TH MATCH: The Usos (c) vs. The New Day (Tag Team Match for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships)

Why is these feud happening again? As good as it is, it ended at Hell In A Cell and should’ve remained so. At least I’m sure we’ll get another incredible match out of these two pairs. New Day is out first followed by The Usos. The match goes 18 minutes and we get formal ring introductions. It’s Big E and Kofi wrestling and they do all their mental spots from their other matches. It ends after everyone gets in the ring and they brawl everywhere. Usos both superkick Kofi and Big E and Woods is also down on the outside. They roll out and search under the ring and pull out tables. But it gets better. They both go to get into the ring but then shake their heads and go back under, this time both pulling out ladders. Usos set them up in the ring as the ref yells at them to stop and they put Big E and Kofi on tables, then both set up ladders and SPLASH THEM OFF THE TOP OF THE LADDER. The ref calls for the bell and it’s a DQ, but this would set up a 5-Team TLC Match for the titles at Wrestlemania, which you can see alongside other matches at the end of this post. Usos slither away still champions as Woods checks on the two in the ring.

WINNERS by Disqualification: The New Day; However STILL WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos

We get an announcement and graphic from the commentators that since Asuka confronted Charlotte earlier tonight, she’s made her Wrestlemania opponent choice and Shane McMahon has made the match official for Wrestlemania 34.

6TH MATCH: AJ Styles (c) vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. John Cena vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn (Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship)

Sami Zayn is out first and jumps around on the ramp when Kevin Owens’ music interrupts him and he walks down, giving Zayn the death stare for pinning him in the Smackdown 5-Way. Out next is Baron Corbin, then Dolph Ziggler, then John Cena, and finally AJ Styles. Ziggler doesn’t get in the ring when he comes down, instead he plays it safe by staying out of the ring. The bell rings and immediately Zayn hits a Helluva Kick on John Cena, knocking him out of the ring. Owens and Corbin and Zayn and Styles brawl. The match goes 25 minutes. Everyone does the usual multi-man tower of doom spots, announce tables and barricades are broken, and crazy reversals. The match ends in a finisher fest, as Owens turns on Zayn and hits him with a Pop-Up Powerbomb, but then eats a Zigzag from behind. Corbin sneaks up behind Ziggler and hits an End of Days, then turns around into an Attitude Adjustment. Finally, Cena turns around into a Phenomenal Forearm outta nowhere from AJ. Styles gets the pin on Cena, getting revenge for the loss that got Cena into this match. J O H N C E N A ‘S R O A D T O W R E S T L E M A N I A I S O V E R. The other 4 guys besides Cena and Styles go to the back off-screen, and Cena sits in the middle of the ring, Styles comes in and raises Cena’s arm before leaving Cena in the ring alone. Cena turns around, facing the crowd, taking it all in. Just like Summerslam 2016, just like No Mercy, Cena has failed and his road to WrestleMania is now impossible. Cena takes off his armbands, Cena takes off his hat and places it on top. Cena looks at the crowd and does his pose. All of a sudden, the lights go out. Gong. Lights back on. Cena’s clothes have been replaced with Undertaker’s hat, gloves and trenchcoat. Fastlane goes off the air with Cena in the corner, looking shocked and bewildered. Undertaker never actually appears. Save that for the show of whichever brand WWE decides to build this on after Fastlane. Credit to that idea goes to a texter on Wrestling Observer Live. It was too damn good not to use.

WINNER and STILL WWE Champion: AJ Styles
