Hey everyone! Every month, days
before PPV's happen, I share my thoughts on the show and card and how I would
book the show that has unexpected swerves, returns, debuts, and a memorable
show that would leave fans happy. If you want, you can read some past editions
of these by clicking on my name and searching. I have been doing these for
every PPV since Night Of Champions 2015. I hope you enjoy, and this is how NXT
Takeover: San Antonio Should Be Booked.
PRE SHOW
- We get the usual panel & we get video packages
& the panelists discuss and hype up the matches and give predictions.
I don't need to book pre shows, nothing ever happens in them, FUCK OFF
PRE SHOWS
MAIN SHOW
- We get an opening video package & then we get the
pyro to kick off the show. The Road To Wrestlemania is about to begin.
Triple H is in the ring to kick off the show, & he talks about the
matches and how important tonight is to have momentum heading into Dallas,
on WM weekend. He gets the crowd excited and then is about to ask
"ARE YOU REA-", and all of a sudden SETH ROLLINS HAS INVADED NXT
TAKEOVER & he whacks HHH in the back with a Steel Chair. Rollins is
killing Triple H & the entire NXT locker room has to clear out to calm
Seth down & separate him. I think Seth Rollins invading NXT and
finally actually tracking down HHH & attacking him for his music
playing & costing him his spot in the Rumble to Sami Zayn on RAW would
be really cool & would make for an interesting dynamic. As the scene
calms down, we get a video package for the first match of the show, the
fatal 4-way for the NXT Women's Title.
1ST MATCH: Asuka (c) vs Nikki Cross
vs Billie Kay vs Peyton Royce (NXT Women's Title)
- Asuka is out first in special black & white gear
and mask, followed by Billie & Peyton, & finally Sanity's Nikki
Cross. The match goes about 15 minutes, & Asuka retains after Sanity
comes out near the end of the match to try to distract Asuka, but Asuka
has Nikki Cross on the top rope & she whacks her off the top rope into
the arms of Sanity, knocking everyone over after Asuka throws a chair at
her head, and then Billie & Peyton try to team up to take out Asuka
but Asuka kicks them both in the head and does a double pin to retain.
Asuka looks like a badass monster once again, but after the match Nikki
runs back in and beats down Asuka & hits her Swinging neckbreaker on
Asuka, & Sanity stands over her with Nikki on their shoulders, holding
the NXT Women's Title.
WINNER & STILL NXT Women's
Champion: Asuka
- We get a backstage segment of HHH refusing medical help
& threatening to fire anyone who touched him. An interview woman tries
to get ahold of him backstage but HHH just knocks the mic out of her hand
to the ground and keeps walking. We then go to William Regal watching
Asuka walk to the back and he tells a backstage producer to inform Eric
Young that he's banning the rest of Sanity from ringside for his match
with Tye Dillinger tonight, and if they disregard that stipulation, they
will pay the consequences.
2ND MATCH: Roderick Strong vs
Andrade Almas
- Andrade makes his entrance first followed by Roddy
Strong. It's a fun short back and forth match, & Strong gets the win
with a his Backbreaker after about a 12 minute match.
WINNER: Roderick Strong
- We get an ad for Tapout.
3RD MATCH: #DIY (c) vs Authors Of
Pain w/ Paul Ellering (NXT Tag Team Titles
- Now this is a tough one. #DIY are one of the best tag
teams in the entire Universe right now, and they only just won the titles,
but AOP are obviously supposed to be a big guys monster heel team and they
just won the Dusty Classic tourney, and neither team should really lose,
so unfortunately I think there will have to be a screwy finish here, maybe
it could set up a rematch at Takeover Orlando, maybe in a big stipulation
like a Ladder Match? AOP are slowly improving but still have trouble
working long, complicated matches. #DIY are out first followed by the
Authors with Paul Ellering. We get formal ring introductions. The match
goes about 13 minutes, & one big spot in the match is when Ciampa runs
off the ropes and sends himself and Akam over the top rope, tumbling to
the floor, & already on the outside, Gargano sends Rezar into the ring
post, and backs up and bit and he teases he's about to do his kick into
Rezars head against the ring post, which would kill him for sure, but
Rezar moves just in time and catches Johnny in his arms, and does a
humongous running Gorilla Press Slam, sending Gargano crashing through the
announce table. The match ends as Rezar is in the corner and Ciampa is
woozy and Rezar hits a one-manned Last Chapter on Ciampa, and as Rezar gets
the 3 on Ciampa for the pin, Gargano doesn't notice and locks in the
Gargano Escape on Akam, and the second the ref hits the mat for the 3rd
time for Rezar's pin on Ciampa, Akam taps out to Gargano. The ref doesn't
see and calls the victory for Akam and the authors, and Gargano and
everyone in the ring is confused and Gargano yells at the ref that he had
Akam tapping. We go to some replays and the ref declares it a draw. The
Authors are livid and lay out DIY afterwards and then leave. Like I said
before, this would lead to a rematch at Orlando, which could have a
special stip like ladder match, which could be DIY/s final NXT match
before jumping to the main roster, if WWE thinks they're ready.
DRAW
- We get an ad for the Royal Rumble TOMORROW, and
immediately after we go to a backstage interview with Tye Dillinger. IT'S
A SIGN?! Tye says he's about to have his match with Eric Young and if he
loses he won't know what to do. He says that if he doesn't win tonight
then he guesses he really doesn't belong in NXT. He says he'll try to make
the fans proud, and he says he'll make his win tonight a Perfect 10.
4TH MATCH: Eric Young vs Tye
Dillinger
- We get a recap of William Regal banning the rest of
Sanity from ringside after the opening Women's title match, and Dillinger
is out first to a gigantic pop, followed by Eric Young. Hopefully some
Royal Rumble chants by the smarks in the crowd. These two could really put
on MOTN, I just feel like these two guy's styles could mesh really well
together. The match goes 17 minutes, and Eric Young gets the win after
Sanity's music begins to play but they don't come out, and Young takes
advantage and hits a Death Valley Driver off the distraction. It looks
like Dillinger is about to lose like the biggest idiot and geek on earth in
what is likely his final NXT match, but Dillinger just kicks out at 2.999
and the crowd goes mental. Young is livid and starts tearing down
Dillinger with stomps in the corner. He gets Tye up on his shoulders and
hits a second DVD off the top rope for the win. Young celebrates and
Sanity joins him and carries him on their shoulders to the back. After
Sanity leaves, Tye is still laying on the ring floor in defeat, but the
crowd begins to chant 10 and "Thank You Tye". Dillinger slowly
hoists himself up with the ropes and the crowd and looks like he can't
believe it and he's got his head in his hands, but the crowd chants for
him. Tye unanimously chant 10 as Tye makes his way to the back. Tye slaps
hands with everyone and then stops on the stage and looks back and throws
up the 10 sign one last time, and then goes to the back.
WINNER: Eric Young
- We get an ad for Tapout and one last short ad for the
Rumble.
5TH MATCH: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs
Bobby Roode (NXT Championship
- Oh crap. Here we go. The battle of the entrance music
is finally happening. We get a graphic and video package before the match
and then Nakamura makes his way out first in all white gear, followed by
Robert Roode with his usual choir gloriously singing his theme. During the
entrances, the crowd cannot choose which theme to sing along to, so they
all start punching each other and the arena erupts into a wild chaos and
everyone dies. These two will put on a clinic. The match goes about 22-25
minutes and is hopefully GLORIOUS. The match ends when Nakamura kills
Roode with a load of knee strikes and slaps and he's getting ready to hit
the Kinshasa, but Roode ducks and swings Nakamura's leg around, wraps his
arm around Shinsuke's neck and hits his new Glorious Bomb jumping DDT
finisher. 1...2....3... NXT now has a GLORIOUS CHAMPION. The crowd goes
batshit and they all sing Glorious as Roode holds up the title. If we're
being honest, Nakamura's reigns as NXT Champ have been very underwhelming.
I think fans will be angry if Roode doesn't win anyway, considering how
insanely over his talent and his song have gotten him in such a short
amount of time. People say that WWE still wants Nakamura in NXT even if he
were to lose the title, and I was thinking he could be a surprise entrant,
but obviously not win. It just feels like the Glorious One is the right
decision to take the NXT Strap home this time. Another Takeover goes off
the air with Bobby Roode celebrating on the ramp as Nakamura looks on and
points to the title, saying he'll get it back.
WINNER & NEW NXT CHAMPION: Bobby
Roode
Here's My Card Now For NXT Takeover:

Well, that's how I would book NXT
Takeover: San Antonio! Hope you enjoyed! Tell me what you liked or disliked,
and what you would like to see on the show, and your predictions and
expectations. Be sure to look out tomorrow for my special 2-part "How WWE
Should Book The 2017 Royal Rumble" post. Yes, I do the entire godamn
Rumble match, and I have to keep track of entrants & eliminations, and..
ugh. But I do it because it's fun to write these things and see other people's
ideas. Enjoy the show tomorrow! Can't believe the ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA begins
once again tomorrow.
