How WWE Should Book Super Showdown 2020

 

**Hey everyone! Ever since Night Of Champions 2015, through multiple accounts, every month before major WWE pay-per-views, I’ve come on here and booked the cards to make them as exciting, intriguing, and best possible scenarios for the future. I do both NXT and main-roster pay-per-views, as well as the occasional big milestone RAW or Smackdown weekly show. Without further ado, here is how Super Showdown 2020 should be booked**!

> KICKOFF-SHOW:

 

* We get the usual kickoff panel of Jonathan Coachman, Charly Caruso, Booker T and David Otunga. Throughout the hour, the panel runs down the match card giving their predictions, hyping up the matches and showing us video packages. We also throw to scattered backstage interviews with Mansoor, The New Day, and King Corbin. About halfway through the hour, we get to our kickoff match.

 

**KICKOFF MATCH: The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) vs. The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) (Tag Team match)**

 

* War Machi-...... I mean The War Rai-...... I mean the Viking Experi-....... I MEAN THE VIKING RAIDERS are out first, followed by the BEST TAG TEAM IN THE WORLD, The O.C. maybe with their trophy? Maybe not? Who KNOWS what gets past TSA in Saudi Arabia? Hurray!!!! **The match goes about 13 minutes** and we get right out of the gate early with Ivar and Gallows starting off for a big boy battle. The two unload on each other with strikes and clubbing blows for a good continuous 60 seconds until Ivar ducks a clothesline from Gallows, and does his handstand cartwheel into his corner and gets the tag to ERoweik who runs wild on Gallows. **The match ends when Erik and Karl Anderson are legal, but Ivar is on the top rope and is about to try for a big splash on Karl, crushing his bones, but Gallows scrambles up to the apron and pushes Ivar off backwards to the outside. The O.C. hit the Magic Killer on Erik and Anderson gets the pin**. Had the Raiders still not lost a match yet at this point, this definitely would’ve gone to those guys if I had the pen. If I remember correctly, these two teams were actually the finals in the BITW Tag Team gauntlet at the last Saudi Show, and the Raiders obviously lost there. People love the Raiders and if they continue to be featured in the main event angle of Rollins vs. Owens on RAW every week, this won’t drop their stock very much at all. I also feel like The O.C. should be looking strong leading into something that happens later in the post… so keep reading onward.

*  The panel gives their final predictions for the two main event title matches and we get to the main show.

 

> MAIN SHOW:

* I’m back. For REAL. No more bullshit. No more excuses. No more of the Brock Lesnar schedule. Putting these posts out full-time once again for the first time since Mania last year. In other news… we are back in Saudi Arabia BAYBEEEEEEEEEEE. How will we be trolled? What will be the worst botch of the night by a legend way past their prime? There’s only one way to find out… watch the actual show. But if you want a GOOD Saudi Arabia show, read this post, damnit. Let’s get into it.

 

**1ST MATCH: Dolph Ziggler vs. Mansoor (Singles match)**

 

* HARK! The yearly appearance of Mansoor is finally coming over the horizon! And also Dolph Ziggler, who comes out first, Mansoor second. **The match goes about 12 minutes** and Mansoor gets heavy offense in right out of the gate. *Some key spots in the match are when Ziggler hits a Superkick and sends Mansoor into the ropes who rebounds back with his signature Running Superkick of his own, and both men fall down. Also, Mansoor goes up top for his moonsault, but Ziggler scampers up behind him, and ZigZags Mansoor off the top, sending both men crashing to the mat*. I’m gonna be honest. I do not know any of Mansoor’s moves. I am getting all this from his Wikipedia page, which is the best source for information because anybody can edit it. But I’m really trying my best. Mansoor is non-canon. What is the meaning of life? This is a very reflective moment for me. **The match ends OF COURSE with the hometown hero, and owner of a more impressive streak than The Undertaker, MANSOOR getting the win when Ziggler grounds Mansoor in the center of the ring but Mansoor rolls back into a small-package, and Ziggler manages to kick out. Ziggler jumps on Mansoor and tries for a Sleeperhold, but Mansoor cradles the top rope and shakes Ziggler off, and turns around, nailing his Superkick on Ziggler again for the win**. I have clowned on Mansoor in the past, but he is actually very good in my eyes. That Cesaro match RULED. He is charismatic when he’s actually given a platform. He’s just the guy from Saudi Arabia that is always gonna be on one of these and go over. And that’s fine. And no, Dolph Ziggler gets nothing in return from this. Because that’s just him.

 

**WINNER by PINFALL: Mansoor**

 

* We get an ad for WWEShop.

 

**2ND MATCH: The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. John Morrison and The Miz (Tag Team match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships)**

 

* New Day are out first followed by Miz and Morrison. **We get formal ring introductions and the match goes about 15 minutes**. Morrison and Kofi start things off and do all sorts of insane, explosive and high flying spots right from the bell being rung. It’s very back and forth throughout the match, and one big spot occurs near the end of the match when Big E and Morrison are legal, and yet Big E is down on the outside and Miz and Morrison are going after Kingston in the corner of the ring. **Morrison gets Kofi in position for Starship Pain and springs off but KOFI ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY, BIG E RUNS BACK IN AND MORRISON FALLS INTO BIG E’S SHOULDERS FOR A BIG ENDING. Morrison is done for but Miz is there to do a drive-by and moves Morrison’s foot to the bottom rope and so the pinfall is cancelled. Morrison gets up and hits an Enzuguri on Big E, knocking him out, and Kofi and Miz both tag in, and Kofi tries for a Trouble In Paradise but Miz ducks and hits a Skull Crushing Finale for the titles**. This New Day reign has been absolutely boring and lifeless, and Miz and Morrison have been killing it since they returned as a team. They are the best team in the SD Tag Division right now and should rightly hold the titles. We could have a rematch at EC, but right now is more than time for a title change.

* We get an ad for Tapout.

 

**3RD MATCH: Angel Garza vs. Humberto Carillo (Singles match)**

 

* Carillo is out first followed by Garza. **The match goes 11 minutes**. #BringBackDaleGas. These guys have been the highlight of the entire company in recent weeks. Garza was brought up by accident after Andrade’s suspension and has made the best of it. He got over big as a star in under a month and I think it’s pretty clear Vince loves him. We get the same crazy cousinlike chemistry that we’ve gotten in the previous matches between these two, **but in the end, Garza nails the Wing Clipper for his second win over Humberto**. Angel Garza for the 2020 Men’s MITB. You have the ball in your court, WWE. That’s the way I’d go. The matches between these guys are awesome, and I hope we get that rumored Fatal 4-way between the Latino World Order of Garza, Andrade, Rey and Carillo.

 

**WINNER by PINFALL: Angel Garza**

 

* Our next transition sees WWE further spoiling their own show by throwing to photos and videos captured of Undertaker arriving in Saudi Arabia from earlier in the week. What is the Deadman doing in the Kingdom of Riyadh?!?!? After that, we get a video package for the Bayley vs. Naomi match, which is rightttt…. now.

 

**4TH MATCH: Bayley (c) vs. Naomi (Singles match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)**

 

* Naomi is out first followed by Bayley. **We get formal ring introductions and the match goes 9 minutes**. Trust me, I wish these two could get hours, but this is Saudi we’re talking about. Lacey and Natalya at the last one was only 7 minutes, this time we’ll go two minutes longer, and by the next show we’ll be at over 10 minutes for a women’s match. PROGRESS!! **In the end, Bayley retains the title with a Bayley To Belly**. Whatever happens at Wrestlemania for this championship, whether Bayley fights Naomi, or Sasha Banks, or both for some reason, Bayley should not drop the title here. I get that it’s Black History Month and all, but that shouldn’t get in the way of illogical booking. I love both these women, but if Naomi is the challenger at Mania then we should save her win and moment for the bigger stage, and if it’s Sasha, then obviously keep it on Bayley and begin building to that. Hope this gets a good response from the crowd, and more importantly, the prince. Maybe 2 Women’s matches on the next card??

* We get an ad for the Ruthless Aggression Era documentary series currently streaming on the Network. Afterwards we get a backstage interview with Roman Reigns, who vows to win the Cage match later on.

 

**5TH MATCH: AJ Styles vs. Andrade vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Erick Rowan vs. R-Truth vs. Rey Mysterio (Gauntlet match for the Tuwaiq Trophy)**

 

* Bobby Lashley and R-Truth start off. Bobby pins Truth with a Spear and a Dominator after 4 minutes. Out next is Erick Rowan. Lashley and Rowan go about 6 minutes and Lashley pins Rowan after Rowan runs head-first into his cage on top of the steps when he chases Bobby Lashley around the ring. Out next is Rey Mysterio, he and Lashley go 3 minutes and Rey pins him with a schoolboy off a 619 into West-Coast Pop combo. Andrade is out next, and he and Rey go for 10 minutes before Rey finally gets his revenge for all those floor DDT’s by pinning Andrade after a 619. Styles is out last, and he and Rey go for 7 minutes, before Rey ultimately taps to the Calf Crusher, and AJ wins the Trophy. The O.C. come out to celebrate with AJ and as they go to raise the trophy, and GONG. Undertaker appears and chokeslams for all 3 men, and a special Tombstone Piledriver reserved just for AJ. The stage is set. Phenom vs. Phenomenal.

* We get an ad for Elimination Chamber next month.

 

**6TH MATCH: King Corbin vs. Roman Reigns (Steel Cage match)**

 

* King Corbin is out first followed by The Big Dog of the World Wrestling Federation. **The match goes 20 minutes**. Reigns gets the win after a barrage of Spears to Corbin. END THIS FEUD HERE PLEASE.

 

**WINNER by PINFALL: Roman Reigns**

 

* We go to the announcers to plug the official theme song of the PPV. We then get a video package for Lesnar vs. Ricochet.

 

**7TH MATCH: Brock Lesnar (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Ricochet (Singles match for the WWE Championship)**

 

* Ricochet is out first followed by Brock and Paul. **We get formal ring introductions and the match goes 10 minutes**. Brock is at his best with smaller guys, like Punk, Bryan, Styles, Rey, Balor, and others, so I expect this to be fantastic. We get Lesnar selling like mad for Ricochet’s offense, and at one point Ricochet flips out of an F-5 attempt and lands on his feet, which knocks Brock to his ass in shock. **The match ends when Lesnar stops a Recoil from Ricochet, hoists him into the air onto his shoulders like a child and nails another F-5 for the retain**. We’re not gonna compromise all the hype and build for Lesnar/McIntyre at Mania for Ricochet to win the title here on a show that usually isn’t well watched. Let’s be real, folks.

* We get an ad for John Cena returning to SmackDown this Friday.

 

**8TH MATCH: The Disciples (Seth Rollins and Murphy) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (Tag Team match for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships)**

 

* The Profits are out first followed by The Disciples (not of the Apocalypse). **We get formal ring introductions and the match goes 15 minutes**. The match ends in DQ after Rollins does some messiah stuff and AOP interfere and ragdoll the Profits. Neither team should lose right now so let’s throw a good ol’ non finish in there. I’m really running outta time on this one, the show begins in half an hour so I’m rushing here. Please don’t yell at me.

 

**WINNERS by DISQUALIFICATION: The Street Profits; however, STILL WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: The Disciples**

 

* We get a video package for Fiend vs. Goldberg.

 

**9TH MATCH: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Goldberg (Singles match for the WWE Universal Championship)**

 

* Okay, rapid fire. BERG OUT. FIEND OUT. 7 MINUTES. SPEARS. JACKHAMMERS. FIEND DOESN’T FEEL PAIN. FIEND PUTS HIS MEATY CLAW IN BILL’S MOUTH AND BILL DIES AND FIEND RETAINS. Right, good stuff.
